Steaming San Cristóbal volcano rises to the WNW beyond the rim of La Ollada, the 1-km-wide crater of Casita volcano.  Fumarole activity along the northern wall of La Ollada has persisted since the early 16th century and does not exceed a temperature of 100 degrees Centigrade.
