The most voluminous Holocene lava flow on the southern flank of Medicine Lake volcano is known as the Burnt Lava flow.  The flow, which originated from High Hole Crater and nearby fissure vents, covers 37 km2.  The flow is dominantly aa lava, but also includes some pahoehoe.
